November 12 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. ET / 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. PT
When Tara Roberts first saw a photo of Black scuba divers uncovering slave shipwrecks, it sparked a journey that was personal, challenging, and transformative. Now a National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence, Roberts works with Diving With a Purpose to recover stories of the transatlantic slave trade from the ocean floor. Educators will learn of stories that illustrate the resilience of the human spirit, the importance of remembering the past, and the shared threads that connect us all.
