It is perfect timing as I am going to be doing some very important oral History work with both my Big History and my year 11 modern history students. I will be watching the talk again in the lead-up to these projects as a checklist for my project.

Donnetta Elsasser , I agree! The step by step process Sue Metzler  gave makes this activity feel doable. What a great way to get students to do the work of historians! Now I am trying to think of where I would do a similar project in my BHP course.

I agree! I love the idea of using the oral histories as a way to dig deeper into specific historical periods and having students research primary and secondary sources to learn more to enhance the questions they ask as they interview.
