Thank you, Melanie Brown, for your thoughtful video! I agree that our students, and we, need to spend time listening to each other before jumping in and blurting their opinions. I love how you started with the 'Silly Opinions" and were able to progress to more complex topics/questions. There is so much benefit in having students speak and listen too in the writing process. I am currently looking at ways that I can incorporate more time for student voice in my class this fall and how this process can help with their development as thinkers and listeners.
