During my very first class meeting in my credentialing course the professor said "There's a difference between school and education." Getting students to love history often happens outside of the class but, as teachers, we can still be part of that journey: it doesn't always need to be Assassin's Creed or YouTube videos. My experience with a student "History Club" has been transformative for my practice.
