  • I really loved the ideas that were presented in this talk. I have only been teaching for 6 years so I still get really nervous when bringing up current events. I never know how my students will react and how I would deal with any disagreements. The best idea I got from this discussion was about how to go about starting those conversations. Having a topic and asking students to explore both opinions before getting their opinion is such a great way to start. It is really important that students see what the arguments are before stating their opinion, it could even change their mind!
