Tree Equity

According to this article one of the unintended consequences of decades of red-lining in San Diego (and probably all other major US cities) is a tree equity problem.

Rich neighborhoods have many trees and poor ones not so much.  If we want to heal this earth we need to start planting trees. Lots of trees.

  • Thank you for sharing this article.  I'm going to use it in my sociology class.  I got lost the other night in a conversation with my neighbor about the idea of systemic racism.  This is a pretty vivid example of its unintentional impacts.
