Current Racism has a Systemic History

So many of our nation's current events are manifestations of a long-standing history of racial bias. Racism against non-whites is not found in just one place. The fact that there is a piece of racial judgment in nearly all parts of our society means that racism is systemic. Students need to know the history, and learn how to have a civil discussion about racism. That can be a scary prospect for a classroom teacher. Perhaps this talk can help you gain perspective and a few strategies.
