Seizing Constitutional Moments

Students come into our classrooms already with an inate sense of constitutionality. Often they proclaim "that's not fair" in reaction to everyday situations in and out of the classroom. Teachers as civic educators need to seize on these and other constitutional moments to continue to shape their democratic sensibilities while helping them navigate the tensions of learning about democracy in authoritarian settings. Identify these moments and learn how to be an agent of civic education for your students.
