“Engaging Students in Difficult Conversations”

@Ammerah Saidi, I thank you for sharing strategies on how to encourage students to have "difficult conversations" in a debate setting.  The prompt that you use as an example, "Is the world a safe place?" is a great question and encourages good research.  You have thought out well your rubric to support good student demonstration of skills.  My students like to perform in similar ways to your model, so I will look to include more of this practice in my classroom.  I thank you, too, for the tangent on The Twilight Zone series.  I hope some day to bring my classes from west Michigan to Dearborn, to spend time in the Arab American National Museum, which I have visited with my friends and family several times, but have yet to bring my students to this important resource.
