  • This talk really has me thinking and re-thinking how we teach students to evaluate online sources.  No sources exist in a bubble and we need to equip our young Historians with the tools to properly evaluate a website and to first go lateral, not vertical when doing so.

  •   , I appreciated that message too. What occurred to me with some of the examples is that students are not very familiar with what to us seem like well-known sites or organizations. 

    Therefore, it is even more crucial for students to read laterally when so many of the sites that come up have no greater or less credibility by recognition.
