This video challenges the “I don’t like history” myth, and its close cousin the “I’m no good at history” myth. It argues that many students walk away from their K-12 experience holding these beliefs to be true. One way to dispel these myths is to teach history differently. We must walk away from traditional textbooks and ask questions we don’t have preconceived answers to. Finally, we need to invite students to explore historical questions that they are interested in.
