We are excited to announce the first of TWO books we will be reading as part of the fifth annual OER Project Summer Book Club! We’d like to extend an invitation for all to join us in reading Under a White Sky: The Nature of the Future by Pulitzer Prize winning author, Elizabeth Kolbert. She takes a hard look at the new world we are creating. Along the way, she meets biologists who are trying to preserve the world's rarest fish, which lives in a single tiny pool in the middle of the Mojave; engineers who are turning carbon emissions to stone in Iceland; Australian researchers who are trying to develop a "super cora" that can survive on a hotter globe; and physicists who are contemplating shooting tiny diamonds into the stratosphere to cool the Earth.

Our community discussion will be held in the OER Project Book Club Forum and will be led by the OER Project’s Molly Sinnott, a member of the Climate Project editorial team. We will officially kick off the conversation on June 12 with a driving question posted in the thread each Wednesday for three weeks, ending with a live discussion on June 26. But, before we do that, we’re excited to announce the OER Project will be giving away 10 copies of the book to the first ten people to ask for a book in the comments. So don't wait, ask for or grab a copy of the book, and prepare for some rich discussions with other members of the community. We’re looking forward to sharing ideas and reflections!

Registrants will receive the session Zoom link by email. Questions? Email us at events@oerproject.com
