About the presenter: Rachel Phillips (Ph.D., Learning Sciences, University of Washington) is a curriculum developer and learning scientist. Dr. Phillips was most recently the Senior Measurement and Learning Lead for the OER Project at Gates Ventures. She has been a K-12 classroom teacher, as well as an adjunct professor in the Learning Sciences. She was the Learning Science and Research Lead for ThinkCERCA, served as Director of Research and Evaluation at Code.org, faculty at the University of Washington, and the program director for an NSF-funded research project. Her research interests include student and teacher learning in formal education spaces and educational technology with a focus on traditionally underserved youth. Her doctoral dissertation focused on schooling in a youth prison setting.
