Skills Clinic: Reading and Source Analysis – January 24, 2023, 3 to 4:30 p.m. PT

Now that we know how to utilize the Three Close Reads strategy with complex text, how can we help students better understand sourcing? This session explores how thoughtful analysis of primary and secondary sources in world history instruction can be a power component in a student’s exploration of our collective past. When practiced regularly, sourcing activities are an inquiry-driven classroom practice that get students engaged and deepens their understanding. Join us during this session as we will learn about the OER Project’s approach to sourcing and practice with tools designed to aid in classroom implementation.
