About Zaretta Hammond: Zaretta Hammond, author of Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain (https://crtandthebrain.com/), is a national education consultant with over 25 years of experience. With a Master’s in Education from the University of Colorado, Boulder, she has taught writing at the high school and community college levels and served as an adjunct instructor in adolescent literacy at St. Mary’s College. Ms. Hammond advises school districts and nonprofits on equity, literacy, and culturally responsive teaching, blending insights from neuroscience to make these concepts accessible and practical for educators.
