Speaker Mary Ellen Daneels is an award-winning educator who leads the implementation of new Illinois civics mandates and social science standards. She has been featured on CBS Sunday Morning and in numerous publications. Daneels served on the Board of Directors for the NCSS and worked on the task force to revise the Illinois social studies standards.
