What creative activities helped students connect personally with the Big History narrative?

Our big area of connection is early on when we make our own personal timelines with key thresholds in our lives, but I'm curious if you have found ways for students to connect on an individual level with any of the other thresholds.  Perhaps having them make a solar system of key people in their lives? Or tracing their own personal "evolution" into who they are today?

Brad Vonck like you, I begin the course with a timeline of students’ lives to help them connect their personal history to the broader story of the universe. As a meaningful culmination of the course, something truly special happened at our school: during the graduation ceremony, the Valedictorian referenced Big History in her speech. She drew a powerful parallel between the life cycle of stars and their own journey—reflecting on how, like stars, they had passed through distinct phases, each one shaping who they had become.

I LOVE this, Laura Massa !

One year I was doing timelines with my Seniors, just to have them look back, and then forward, at this pivotal time. One boy put "taking Big History (which had been three years prior) as a significant event that had shaped him.

    That was an amazing moment.

Donnetta Elsasser certainly, Big History produces a big impact on our students. Some realize it's effect years later after taking other courses. I think it is foundational course in high school education.
