This week in Big History I took my students outside the classroom to simulate planet formation through the process of accretion. They had a lot of fun and when they returned to the classroom I asked them to complete this activity that helped them conceptualize what they have just experienced. In fact, it also contributed to clarify their understanding when they sorted the planets in its sequence of formation. I highly recommend doing this activity, particularly because the new version of the course includes this reflection component. Here is a video I compiled with my groups.
