This lesson from Unit 1 is a staple which most of us know well. The last post was over a year ago, so I'm re-introducing it. What a cool lesson to start with. It's day 3 of the new trimester for me, I couldn't name 10 kids yet- but this is a great activity to help learn who the students are and what they're all about. The fun was getting them to think about all the infinite "what-ifs" that happened, or didn't happen, so they could end up being who they are today. Next, we follow this up with the Zoom Out slides. I've posted about that activity in the past with links to materials, its an add-on to BHP, but if you don't know about it, check it out with a quick search here in the forum. Here is a GIF made with portions of all my students drawings! Below the GIF are some links to some follow up questions for small groups.

Here are links to two Google Slides providing follow up questions for students to discuss their drawings in small groups. The first one includes references to "Danger of a Single Story" from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's famous TED talk. The second link is without reference to "Danger".
