Do you leave your leaves?

Donnetta Elsasser

Every year about this time there is a new article out about why it is beneficial to leave your leaves in your yard, instead of raking them up and getting rid of them.

Instead of an article this year, I'm going to give you some images to consider. Is this a topic that you might discuss with your students?

I always leave them, I just mow over them to chop them up a bit.   This year's so dry (less than 1 inch of rain since September, none in October) my grass has grown so it's getting a little sloppy in the back yard.

It seems to me the old leaves makes a mulch alternative in some of spots.

I would love to claim the eco-conscious tag but it's mostly laziness!

Ha Ha, Chris Scaturo . Sort of like my spend thriftiness is now green!

My husband usually mows them also, in part of the yard, and it it is dry enough.
