Dear OER Climate Project Gurus

Would it be possible to make a Google doc of al the guiding questions you have for the infographics, videos and articles? I'm making them myself, which is time consuming. I really love the curriculum and have started using it in my class in NY. Thank so much!

Thanks so much for your kind words—we’re thrilled to hear you’re using the curriculum in your NY classroom!

You’re definitely not alone in wanting a more streamlined way to access the guiding questions. I’d recommend checking out the lesson guides (open a lesson and click the hammer next to "teaching tools" , which include the guiding questions for the infographics, videos, and articles, organized by lesson.  And these guides can be downloaded as Word docs, so you can edit and customize them for your students.

Let us know if that’s the kind of resource you had in mind—or if there’s something different you’re looking for. We’re always eager to learn from how teachers are using the materials!

Here's one of the lesson guides: Lesson 2.2 Teaching Guide

This might not be what you want to hear christine guarino but AI is pretty adept at creating questions.  Guiding questions, to inquiry questions.  I've been using AI to create discussion questions a lot in my classes.  I always ask AI for six, then I pick the ones I like, and even if I have AI tweak them a couple of times, it's faster than doing it from scratch.  Now we can upload docs or even articles in PDF format and have AI create guiding questions based on that article or topic we upload.

Thanks! I really just want OER to put the discussion questions they have provided into a Gdoc instead of directly on the platform. I have used AI for a bunch of things already and have found it useful. Thanks for your help!

Thanks! I really just want OER to put the guiding questions they have provided into a Gdoc instead of directly on the platform. Right now I have to copy them into a Gdoc and format it, which is a little time consuming, but not the worst thing in the world! The Gdocs that are available for the rest of the content are great.

    Thanks for your help!

    I hear you.

I have cut and pasted a TON of docs. Sometimes I am slow to take advantage of updated resources, just because it takes more time to revamp all the companion resources too.

I have found some luck just asking folks--Hey, has anyone already created questions for the "Intro to Climate" video or article? Are you willing to share?"
