Curious to know how my fellow climate optimists engaged in Earth Day this year!?

My students used the OER Climate curriculum infographics for inspiration to make their own; an individual assignment about a direct or indirect impact learned in class or another topic of choice. They researched, collected facts, created graphs, organized the information - I printed and on Earth Day we hung up their informational posters around campus to educate our community! Students chose topics such as climate change's impact on mental health, the costs of fast fashion, geoengineering (Lesson 3.1), vampire energy, etc.

Alexandre Scott , what a great idea! I would love to see some student samples if you have any you'd be willing to share.

I decided to show parts of Wall-E in my History Through Film class. We discussed small changes that we can make to help keep our world healthy. We then focused the rest of the block on Climate Action: Policy. Although we didn't get through everything in the lesson, I was able to connect the end of the movie - where more and more citizens got involved - to the policy letter writing activity.

Cool Andrea! Wall-E is such a phenomenal visual, I'm going to think of ways to incorporate the movie or even clips. Also I LOVE that you teach a History Through Film course : )
