I've been trying to incorporate more variety into each of my class sessions and I thought I'd share how I modified this activity. I made the images slightly larger (still fit 6 on a page), printed them on cardstock, sliced them up, and clipped them together. As an opener, I had partners sort in the order they thought and record the order on a post-it. Then, we jumped into the lesson. At the end, I asked if they wanted to change the order before revealing the answer. It was quick, but really got the kids engaged!
Anyone else have some quick, simple, engaging opener activities like this they want to share?
