I plan on using the Women in the Ancient World lesson from Unit 4: Empires and Belief Systems in the Origins course with my Pre-AP World 9th-grade students. I am thinking of planning an extension activity but I am stuck on where to begin. I want students to go beyond the Han vs. Rome comparison. Has anyone done anything similar for this lesson?

Once upon a time (like 5-6 years ago) I extended that lesson to include Samurai and Knights (Comparison Chart). The DBQ is from the DBQ Project. So half of my students looked at the materials for the women and the other half looked at the materials for the men and then it culminated in a Socratic Seminar. During hybrid times, I used Google Jamboard (RIP) to do this activity which could totally happen with actual sticky notes or Slides or even Padlet. I moved away from this activity because of the time commitment but it was a crowd pleaser.
