Our school has a very popular world history class -The Holocaust. Kids know they need to know about it, and what makes it popular with the students is it's power. For all the right reasons our kids in rural Washington State see the value in a powerful experience in history. They recognize today's world is far from perfect and they want to be informed. One very key piece in teaching how the Holocaust transpired is placing the right amount of emphasis on the Great War. I've been including this strong evidence for how the world felt after the devastation of WWI. A Lost Generation OER lesson has been a very good one for giving my students the platform for understanding why people across the globe didn't want any conflict, and let leaders like Hitler do his thing, and let leaders appease dictators. People watched their countries fall into greater peril just because they avoided the tough decisions to stop hate, instead choosing to just go along and keep their eyes closed. Who else has this lesson in a class? Is it just in the order of things in world history, or do you use it in unique ways?
