I watched a video the other day and saw a page of beautiful One-Pagers. If you don't know what those are, they are single pages where students use words, images, symbols, and quotes to demonstrate their understanding of a topic, and some of the ones I saw were excellent. This made my brain think, "OK, let's make some instructions for your World History class to do one of those about decolonization." My requirements are going to be simple: a title, three major events related to independence, Key leaders 1-2 important people (drawings or pictures with names and roles), Colonial Power, Protest or Reisistance Methods, Symbols and Images (at least 4), at least 1 Quote, and an Impact Statement. I think my kids will have fun; it is a different way to demonstrate understanding.
