One-Pager

I watched a video the other day and saw a page of beautiful One-Pagers. If you don't know what those are, they are single pages where students use words, images, symbols, and quotes to demonstrate their understanding of a topic, and some of the ones I saw were excellent. This made my brain think, "OK, let's make some instructions for your World History class to do one of those about decolonization." My requirements are going to be simple: a title, three major events related to independence, Key leaders 1-2 important people (drawings or pictures with names and roles), Colonial Power, Protest or Reisistance Methods, Symbols and Images (at least 4), at least 1 Quote, and an Impact Statement. I think my kids will have fun; it is a different way to demonstrate understanding.

Amber Llewellyn This is a great idea to implement in the classroom! Your directions are clear and concise, and I love the combination of visual elements with key historical content and quotes. I might borrow your framework for my own class. Thank you for sharing!

Those are awesome!  I would call that an infographic. I think we’ve had some good discussions on simple directions for stuff like this. I’ll see if I can find some.
