    Aloha everyone from Hawaiʻi.

My name is Isaac "Kealohapauʻole" Ahuna. Iʻm from Hilo, Hawaiʻi, but I am an 11th grade world history teacher at Kamehameha Schools - Hawaiʻi Campus.

Iʻll be teaching the WHP Origins to Present course this year (wish me luck)!

This is my "first" year as a world history teacher, but prior to this, I taught Hawaiian language at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo.

My subject areas of expertise are world and Hawaiian history, Hawaiian language and literature, and culture-based/language-based education and curriculum development.

An interesting fact about me...I am returning to my alma mater to teach and contribute back to the school that fostered me to be where I am at today.

I am looking forward to being here with you folks and learning from all of you!

Hello, Kealohapauʻole.  What a great place to be -- your alma mater! Fabulous way to give back.

I'm curious if you'll also be including your expertise on Hawaiian history in the WHP course.  I've found that my students are particularly interested in Polynesian history as a part of world history, regardless of where we are (NJ) or the students' individual heritage.  I. Aloha! So cool to hear. I hope if there are interesting conversations that come up re: teaching Origins in Hawaii that you'll share them in the community - I'd be so interested!
