  • Hello everyone from QC, Arizona.  My name is Rebecca Sloat.  I have been a part of OER Project for about a little over 5 years now and love it.  I will be 3 sections of AP World History and I will use OER Project World 1200 for my two on level courses.  I LOVE WOrld history and have been teaching it for 11 out of my 12 years.  I have also taught US History, Holocaust Studies, Academic Intervention, Honors World, Computer Science and Technology, but World is my favorite by far!! 

    One of my favorite OER lessons is from Unit 3, World Cafe.  The kids come up with some amazing recipes for this activity.  I even had a kid make his recipes for me and they were delicious!  I did make a rubric for it, it is linked in here somewhere, but if you need it, feel free to reach out.  

    Interesting fact:  I am at a fairly new school, this will be our third year open and our first graduating class.  That being said, I have had the ability to dip my toe in several different activities and clubs.  This year, I am the Head Varsity Coach of Girls Flag Football.  I know nothing about it, but I get to work with a former student, who now teaches with me, to coach these amazing girls!
