Hi Gregory Dykhouse  Score is no longer available for feedback on writing.  I know some teachers have used various AI platforms like MagicSchool, Eduaide, and Brisk to name a few of the options.

Megan, thank you for the reply.  SCORE provided OER teachers and students a convenient means to explore how AI may support and strengthen writing.  It was available, even with other programs as options.  Perhaps OER will decide to bring it back.

    Hey, Greg!

We won't be bringing SCORE back, however, OER Project will be replacing it with another option. More to come!

Hey Megan Suits thanks for naming some of those other options. Last year, a couple teachers I work with played around with feedback using Bard (now Gemini?) and Claude. I think this is one of those things where you have to really experiment and fine tune what you are asking for to be sure you're actually saving time. I'm sure Bryan Dibble has dialed in on some great strategies for this!

    Hi Ebony,

    Thanks for the clarification.

It is disappointing to see that such a powerful learning tool as SCORE has been removed. It would be great to understand the rationale behind the decision.

    Hi James,

While SCORE was generally regarded as a great tool, it had one major flaw. It didn't take content into consideration. In theory, you could have had a beautifully constructed paragraph that scored a 4 but also wildly historically inaccurate. We are opting for a new program that considers both sentence structure and historical accuracy.

I hope that helps a bit. I understand the disappointment with SCORE going away, but my fingers are crossed that the next iteration will be even better.
