Three Close Reads Rubric

How to you give feedback on the Three Close Reads?

I'm looking elevating  the use of the 3CR graphic organizer. In addition to help students develop their reading, I also want to use it as a "note-taking" technique.

How do you provide feedback to students? Do you use a rubric? Written feedback?

Great questions, John Vidoli . I would really like to hear what others say.

I like to offer feedback during the discussion (3rd read) part. In whole group, or visiting small groups if students are talking separately.

Donnetta Elsasser , here's what I came up with:

    DOCX

Well, it wasn't me, really. After looking online, I put it in Copilot. It based it one the OER 3CR material.

It added the Overall Engagement criteria. I might delete this as it seems to be included in the first 3 criteria.

When I entered the rubric into Google Classroom, I decided to weigh the second and third criteria more than the first as these require more work from the students.

I also made the lowest level at 50%.

(Jim Jaeger , you might be interested in this use of AI. It saved a lot of time.)

In addition to giving students feedback on how they complete the  3CR, I needed a way to give them a grade. I have enough students who  won't do anything unless it's for a grade.

    What do you think?

How would you improve on it?
