Shift to PBL for AP World: Modern?

Angela Lee
Angela Lee 7 months ago

The AP program has been rolling out Project Based Learning models.  Has anyone adopted the PBL approach for the AP World program?  If so, how has that changed your practice? How has that changed your daily routine?

(Like the Franken-Empire one inspired by OER Project)

Thanks for the question Angela Lee . I'm not fully PBL but I have been incorporating more projects into my course. I'm not sure I feel confident enough to fully make the switch to all PBL. I've used Autopsy of an Empire for Unit 3 like Anne Koschmider had mentioned. I actually include empires from Units 3 & 4 (I tend to have large classes so I need more empires). Overall I've had some good projects and I'm thinking of doing something similar to this later in the year.
