Is there a feedback form for the three close reads worksheet?

I am trying to learn how to best use all the many resources that are offered. I like the three reads document. Is there a feed back form that I can use with students?

Additionaly is there a place in the teacher's resources that address the third read for all the documents?

Hello, tiffani davis welcome to the community! The tools that you've found a great -- and so flexible, they're great to use in any type of reading (OER or not).

While there isn't a feeback form per se, I find that students are good to review their first read (the gist) on their own, the second read (content) with a partner or in a choral response in class, and third read would come to me for a final review. The third read's focus on the argument and the historical evidence is one that I check periodically each unit.

Affirming students' progress toward understanding through a simple feedback form can place with a 1 point rubric, if that helps. Perhaps something like this would help?

Hitiffani davis ! I use the three reads activity alongside articles and videos pretty regularly. The great part about building this into your classroom practice, is that students get better and better at pulling info and digging into those bigger ideas as the school year progresses.

Any questions in particular you have about the tool? I like a slow roll out of the tool when we first start using it in my BHP class. We will do the skim read together as a class (I will model it up on the board and students will share out their observations and inferences.) The second read is done in small groups - I assign one student to be the reader as other students in the group follow along and jot down notes in real time. Lastly, students conduct the final third read on their own. It is here that they revisit part or parts of the text to question, connect, or reflect.

Hi tiffani davis ! Do you mean a key for those questions? They tend to be pretty open-ended to allow for a variety of responses so I don't think there is a key, However - I think it would be awesome to post those questions for a particular article, video, etc. here in the community and see what we can all come up with! It would be refreshing to hear what teachers think once in a while, in addition to what we hear from students. Go for it!
