I am trying to incorporate some new lessons into my units this semester instead of defaulting to the tried and trued (and honestly, comfortable) lessons I've been using for multiple years. I've found that adding in a new resource, whether it be article, video, etc, has been beneficial for my own teaching practices.
As I start this new semester, I'm eager to learn new strategies and resources to enhance my teaching practices. I'm definitely looking for materials that make reading more enjoyable and accessible for my students. Like some of the other teachers mentioned above, I plan to incorporate more of the OER Project’s graphic biographies, pairing them with primary sources.
My goal for the second semester is to assess student skills more often. My group of AP students this year is not as strong, and the skills work is what they struggle with the most. I find myself turning almost every activity into something skills-focused where they can tangibly see how this can help them on the AP exam.
