Simplifying Class Notes

Marcella Sykucki
Marcella Sykucki 10 months ago

I feel like every year I'm constantly going back in and simplifying my class notes for AP World. Even with the CED, it's always such a hard balance of what they need to know versus what is good to know (or even fun to talk about). Does anyone have any strategies or tools (like any of the AI ones) that can take and simplify my notes down?

Marcella Sykucki  I have used Brisk to lower reading levels for students with accommodations. I wonder if it might serve your needs as well. It is a free Chrome extension.

Diffit might be an option too. You could enter your original text, then select the grade level for which you would like to create resources.

Thanks Anne Koschmider that's what I've been doing already but I wasn't sure if there was another program out there that was doing this.

School.ai might be worth a look too - they offer a text leveler.

Claude.ai does a great job on cloze notes and can offer other variations according to your requests. Do you want Critical thinking questions, fun facts, reflective questions, etc...

Do you have to have to use a Google account with Brisk?

You do need a Google Account for Brisk because it operates out of the Google Suite of tools. It churns out responses in the form of docs, slides, and forms. But it will "read" webpages, pdfs, and videos.

It appears you do. I attempted to use it with Microsoft and it was not an option. Perhaps someone knows a workaround.
