Hey, Brad Vonck ,
Google Forms can be very useful, especially if you want to have a digital record.
When I'm trying something new with students, I most often just tell them ahead of time and ask them what they thought of it afterward. I like to give students as many opportunities to speak during class as possible.
You'd think that students would not want to be put on the spot. But we critique and claims test so often that they have no problem voicing their opinions.
