Not sure about anyone else, but 'tis the season for student absences due to illness. :( I had a couple of sections I was gearing up to start a writing assignment with, and then found out about several students who would be missing key components - establishing a claim and gathering evidence in order to start drafting.
Then, I read Bennett Sherry 's blog post: Seven couples who showed the world that love is forever, and used it to create an activity. Considering it incorporates claim testing and historical figures, I think it's a win.
Thought I would share the slides I made since we still have a couple of days until the holiday. Sharing is love, right?
