We got to learn from the National Museum of Industrial History about how we can make the Industrial Revolution interesting and relevant to students. We explored big questions—How did the Industrial Revolution shape the modern world? Are we still in an Industrial Revolution? What are the impacts of our choices, individually and collectively?—and highlighted some classroom-ready activities like OER Project's causation lesson, Urbanization Game, and Igniting Industry and NMIH's digital learning materials. Check out some resources here!
As you think about your own practice:
- How do you think your students would respond to the discussion about the good, bad, and ugly of the Industrial Revolution?
- How do you hook students on the relevance of industrialization?

What’s one idea you’re excited to try with students?
