Launching a Global Events Course — Best OER Resources?

Next year I will be teaching a new course focused on global events and the news, and I would love to learn from you how to best use the OER platform resources to teach about bias, accuracy, reliability, and perspective while also identifying connections between current events and broader historical and global trends.

Laura Massa You might find some (or all) of the resources from the Digital Inquiry Group's Civic Online Reasoning curriculum to be useful. They center their lessons around three main questions: 1) Who's behind the information?, 2) What's the evidence?, and 3) What do other sources say?

I also ran into folks from the News Literacy Project at a conference a little while back. Seems like they have some good stuff, but I haven't used it myself.

Christopher Barber these resources are wonderful! Thank you immensely for your help in this. When I proposed the course I had some preliminary ideas on how to implement an elective course like this, but the ones you added here are phenomenal. I will work on this course during the summer.
