How are you being celebrated by your school?

Here we are in MAY.  I have no idea how I got here, but the calendar doesn't lie.  I'm finishing up with a student teacher (a fantastic one by the way) and coming back into the classroom after giving him time to spread his wings.  After sitting in a little office in the far corner of the library for six weeks, it's back to the hustle and bustle of the classroom.  ADDING to the chaos is an amazing week of events, scavenger hunts, a daily breakfast, games, and much more.  My school has a teacher appreciation week theme, "SURVIVOR" and they are not kidding.  I'm having a hard time surviving all the fun.  I missed a breakfast because I was just too busy, and have not had the time to read half the emails with the scavenger hunt clues.  I love what our school is doing for us, but it's tough to have that much fun when I'm scrambling to keep kids heads above water (aka C-).  SO WHAT IS YOUR SCHOOL DOING?  What is the "TAW" (Teacher appreciation week) festivities being bestowed on you right now?

Our school rented a food truck for us using PTO money for lunch for a day! It was really nice!

Wow Bryan Dibble !  That is next level.  We were treated to cinnamon buns a la Princess Leia on May the 4th, and have had different groups, from parent groups to the American Legion plying us with other sweet treats, which is really nice.

Today I got a bouquet of flowers (!!) from one of my students for Teacher Appreciation.  I feel really appreciated!

We had a coffe truck, a breakfast , and the paras did treats all week.  May is getting worse than December for extra calories.

My teacher neighbor set out some stationery in his classroom for students who wanted to write thank you notes to their teachers. Those sweet words made my day!

And Anne Koschmider , what a lovely gesture!  I think sincere, hand-written notes are the best way to show a teacher that they are appreciated, and how.
