Have you seen the viral “Netflix Documentary” trend? We see an empty chair, and then the subject walks into the camera frame, sits down, taps their mic, clears their throat, shifts around, while on-screen we see what documentary this person would star in, if only Netflix would create it. If this sounds unfamiliar, it probably means you avoided social media this summer—no shame in that! (Check out this description of the trend if you need a primer). The topics run the gamut (and probably depend on your algorithm—I’ve seen a lot about cats and running), from juicy workplace gossip, to admissions of excessive shopping habits, to what might be going on in a pets’ mind.
As you prep for how to introduce yourself to a new group of students, I’m curious: What docuseries are you waiting for Netflix to produce about your life? About your classroom?
Post your best concepts below…we can’t guarantee that Netflix will listen, but we will!
