Just used the Economic Systems Simulation and it went well. I was able to pick up cheap holiday Kisses as Valentine kisses are now on the shelves! After the activity, the students Close Read the Rise of the Proletariat My measure of success was the Warm up for today. Excellent answers and much better than last year!

Hi Janet Mann - I'm glad that this went well, and thank you Jessica Lindenmeier for sharing what resonated with your students. I did not have a chance to use it last week when we did an introduction to the economics to industrialization. as a sandwich module class day between 1 class day (60 minutes) for : Origins of the Industrial Revolution combined with a "Scale of an Industrial Revolution" scavenger hunt using the questions from the "Read 2 Understanding Content" questions, and one final class day (60 min) Jigsaw Reading of the "Japan's Industrial Revolution" article and "Egypt's Industrial Revolution". We then do the "Comparison: Egypt and Japan Activity." in a following class.
However, I am planning on circling back next week as a review activity. Emma Auer - thank you for your question on how to best divide the chocolate - I can never do the math!
Looking forward to seeing how others are using this in their classroom!
