My first year teaching, 31 years ago, I was lecturing on the run up to World War 2 in a Freshmen World History class. Students were supposed to take notes. In my mind, everyone did but Maggie. Maggie gave me notes in drawn form. This was my first introduction to being flexible and allowing students to think in their own way. I kept those "Notes" and now use them as a warm up activity. I made the notes into puzzle pieces that student pairs put in order of event. They do not include everything; so then I have students "fill in the blanks." I thought I would share because I love the story, but also the activity. I am sure Maggie is very successful in whatever she set her mind to!!
