Modern Global Migration

In APWH as part of decolonization, our standard requires us to look at the consequences of decolonization including "migration of former colonial subjects to imperial metropoles"  so I put together this migration map activity using the OER reading on refugees found here: https://www.oerproject.com/OER-Materials/OER-Media/PDFs/AP-World-History/Unit9/A-Century-of-Refugees?Id=3034&share=link

Feel free to use :).

Thanks for sharing Melissa Nowotarski ! How long do you think this would take students? I definitely want to include it in my APWH just not sure if to do it now during decolonization or as a review activity.

Depends on how you want to do it.  I needed a bit more movement in class today so I made them "migrate" to a new seat for each round with a new partner and complete that section.  That got them moving around four different times. It took about 15 minutes.  Then, I had them wrap up with writing a continuity above  the chart between 19th and 20th century migration. and a write a change below the chart.

Thanks for this Melissa Nowotarski , I like the idea of having them migrate as well.
