Teaching Guides and Google Classroom Support

Samuel Raup
Samuel Raup 3 months ago

Hello,

I am wondering if there is a single, unified place to find the teaching guides for the AP World History Lessons.

I love the guides, but it is a bit inconvenient for planning future lessons to need to open the lessons individually within each lesson's individual page.

Is there a single doc that has the guides for whole units? That might make it more helpful when looking over the guides to write sketch plans, generate agenda slides, etc.

Finally, I am wondering if there is a place where google classroom resources are stored? The current process for assigning tasks from WHP AP to Google Classroom is time consuming. I know there used to be a single Shared Folder that contained all the tasks. Does such a folder still exist?

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

Hi Samuel Raup and thanks for your question about lesson guides and a Google drive single folder to import into Classroom. I'm working on getting answers for both of those questions and I'll update you by the end of today. Katie Bercury same goes for you re: Big History. Kendra Nielsen if you're having trouble finding an overview syllabus/outline, all those are located on the course homepage in the Teaching This Course table at the bottom of the page. Here are the links to the various outlines:

    WH AP Outline

    WH AP Syllabus

    Big History Outline

    WH Origins Outline

    WH 1200 Outline

    WH 1750 Outline

Hi again Samuel Raup , Katie Bercury , and Kendra Nielsen . I had a chat with Angelina and we're going to put the lesson guides together by unit. We have someone who's going to start working on those but it might take us a bit to get them all together. I'll let you know when we've got the first course up on the site. And Chelsea is in charge of the Google Drive folders but she's out of the office at the moment. When she returns on Monday, I'll ask her about the status of those folders.

Hi again Samuel Raup , Katie Bercury , and Kendra Nielsen I started combining the lesson guides but it's a slightly tedious process. Here are the WH AP lesson guides and outline for Unit 1: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/3d9xd62sgngto5635i9ge/WH-AP-Unit-1-Lesson-Guides.docx?rlkey=h16qbjaadjmkbxtv0mswjpkau&st=twfian1a&dl=0

And here are the Unit 2 lesson guides and outline for Unit 2: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/sgdzvo2dhx9fnwkxyt6mf/WH-AP-Unit-2-Lesson-Guides.docx?rlkey=6nz2l4s6r69y84lrqgofieg95&st=am69acjm&dl=0

I'm going to try to get these up on the site as fast as I can and we have someone else working on the Big History guides. After those two courses are up, we'll start on the World History guides.

Hi Samuel Raup Here's where you can find the links to find the full courses on Google Drive.

    1. You have to be logged into the site as a teacher.

    2. Once you've logged in, go to the "For Teachers" tab and then click on "Help & Support".

    3. On the "Help & Support" page, you find "Using OER Project with Google Drive".

    4. Click on that link and scroll to the bottom of the page and you'll see links for the full courses on Google Drive.
