As "orange chicken" was read on the announcements as today's entree for school lunch, one of the students said, "I wonder if it's champa rice?"

I love that!! Chicken Bowl Thursdays are an institution at our school, so I just had my on-level students research whether their beloved lunch entree would have been possible without the Columbian Exchange.

I love that!! And I love applying the Columbian Exchange to school lunch (as well as the variety of school lunch "specials" - we have a "famous bowl")
