Mansa Musa Mini-Book Examples

Hi everyone!

I made a Google Drive folder of Mansa Musa Mini-Book exemplars if you're interested. I tried to go with examples of the different styles students used. Let me know if you have any issues accessing the folder.

Here's a link to the rubric I shared with my students.

Thank you ERIN CUNNINGHAM for sharing this great activity with the community and to all who contributed with resources, exemplars, and videos. I will use it in my next unit of Big History "Expansion & Interconnection" when we cover the explorers. I will be traveling and therefore absent from the classroom, so this activity will be perfect to keep my 9th graders motivated while learning about the explorer of their choice. I like the fact that you can display the mini books so everybody can read them.

Laura Massa , you're so welcome! It's a perfect activity for explorers--I love that your students will be able to choose their main character. I would love to see examples of your students' work!

ERIN CUNNINGHAM my students submitted mini-books for the unit on Expansion and Interconnection and I have to say that the activity went super well. I assigned it as homework and my students had the option to choose between mini-books or podcasts. Here are some examples of their work. Following Zachary Cain 's guidance, I displayed them in my room.

Laura Massa , these examples look great! I really like how students used images to supplement their writing. A lot of really good thinking on those books. And I also love that you've displayed them like Zachary Cain .
