Columbian Exchange Resources

The Columbian Exchange is included in each of the OER Project courses. The transfer of plants, animals, diseases, and ideas set in motion by European voyages across the Atlantic marked a dramatic change in global history. Whether teaching BHP, WHP or WHP AP, there are some great activities such as Columbian Exchange Infographic, World Zone Cafe, and The Crops that Grew the World to help students explore this critical turning point and understand both the immediate and gradual consequences of the first global network.

Check out how teachers in the community use the Columbian Exchange resources to help students learn how new routes of exchange and the interconnection of previously isolated continents changed the world forever.

A link to a Columbian Exchange map I drew for kids to use in the classroom.  I print it on 11 x 17 inch paper. Smiley
