The Hamas Israeli War

How are you relating the events in the Middle East to your kids and your course? Are you setting this somehow in the global context with Russia-Tiawan and China-Taiwan?

What are the roots of the Israel-Palestine conflict? This is a good article that outlines the historical context of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. I think this could be great practice with causation.

Not a bad article at the start but uses dangerous rhetoric throughout that is inaccurate and biased. Be mindful of mainstream media, some of whom still repeat debunked claims. I teach about Palestine with a focus on Palestine and their history. The following site might help some folks and they offer a curriculum for teachers as well https://teachpalestine.org/

I find that resource also a bit biased and one-sided.

There is no such thing as an unbiased resource but those seeking resources that attempt to demonstrate the narratives on both sides of the conflict will do well to examine The Institute for Curriculum Services - https://icsresources.org/ or ConnectEd - https://connecteducation.org/

Unfortunately I've never been able to find a joint Israeli-Palestinian initiative the generate nuanced curriculum for 6-12 history education. Maybe the closest thing is Ahmed Fouad Al-Khatib, a Palestinian American who has contributed to and sits on the board of ConnectEd.  Both of these sources admittedly have their own biases but I earnestly belive that if one is open-minded rather than idelogical, they will find these resources quite balanced in their approach.
