After doing the Sadler Committee Report activity, I wanted to make a connection to what child labor looks like today in the world. I have always been a fan of using almost anything from Vice. Their segments work really well for a social studies class. Some are only about 15 minutes and students find them pretty interesting. This one happens to be a little over 20 minutes and we were only able to watch the first 12 minutes or so but it worked well to help students understand some examples of child labor and hopefully some empathy. In this segment, the connections to child labor in Dickensian England to child labor in Nepal are actually pretty clear for students.
